Since it's Children's medication and your baby is still an INFANT, you must be very careful, please be careful.

You should ask your doctor before you give children's medicine to an infant.

Children's medications are intended for older, heavier children not infants.

Keep baby hydrated and wipe her nose with warm damp washcloth or baby wipes to keep from irritating her skin. We have a skin doctor and a pediatrician in our family and they say use baby wipes on baby noses!

She could probably benefit from a humidifier in her room, some Infants Tylenol or Infants Advil for her fever, and schedule a visit with her pediatrician asap. Call her doctor.

Don't think I would give a 11 month old dimetapp. If the dosage is not on box than it is not intended for infants. You need to buy pediacare or something similar for infants. Go to drug store and ask they can assist you. If you don't want to do that go to wal mart, target, or some other store and read the back of the boxes. If it states that it is not recommended for certain ages don't use it. I think you can also use Triaminic for infants also. Ask your pediatrician. Hope this helps..

That stuff is like speed. She won't sleep. I gave it to my kids a few times and they were up all day and all night. No naps. My son spun around on the floor in circles.

My doctor recommends Purple Tryamenic. I have been giving my 1 yr old since she was 6 months old- 1/2 tspn in AM and before bed.
Not every 4-6 hours or it causes the same affects as dymetapp.

Well, it is Children's Dimetapp... not Infant's.

Medications are administered according to weight.
Use whatever the lowest doseage is on th eside of the bottle, and adjust it according to her weight. For instance,

if it says something like...
for a 25-35 pound child - 1 teaspoon
and your child weighs 16 pounds... 1/2 teaspoon would be good.

call the pharmacy and ask to talk to the pharmacists. they can tell you the dosage and they can tell what meds you can NOT give to an infant. I rely an awful lot on the pharmacists here in town to help with all kinds of medicine related questions. they actually know more then the dr's thats what they are trained for.

Run to the drug store and buy tylonal cold for infants. It worked really well for me. oh and try pedacare cough and congestion. that works really good to the tylonal cold is the same dose as regular suspension drops and for the stuffy nose try little noses saline nasal spray. I would really feel uncomfortable giving dimatap to my twins who are the same age and wouldnt do it unless the doctor recomended it. you could maybe try to put her in her car seat fo the night and set the car set in her crib
