I'm a beginner and have 2 Tiger Barbs and 2 Giant Danios. However, I got them at walmart and both are probably 1/2"-1" long. When i went to Petsmart today I saw the Tiger Barbs and Giant Danios and they were nothing cmpared to the ones I have. I'm guessing it's because walmart got the young ones. Any idea how long it will take them to reach their full size?

There are so many variables in the fishes growth rate that there is no clear cut answer, but count on a year or so for the barbs and 1 - 1 1/2 years for the danios under normal tank conditions.

The cleaner the water, the better and more varied the food and the larger the tank the faster the growth rate will be.

Best of luck with them!

It all depends on the tank conditions--such as:
how big is the tank
how much are they being fed

Walmart doesn't have high quality fish!
Buy your fish from Petsmart or Petco or someother place that specilizes in fish.

___I assume you have a 10 gallon tank_____

In a 10 gallon tank, it will probably take 1 1/2 years to reach full size. You have too many fish for your aquarium. For now , while they are only an inch a 10 gallon tank is fine. But when they grow to 2 to 3 inches u need atleast a 20 gallon tank.
Good luck!
