George wanted to sing, he thought he sounded great, but no one else agreed. Man of Constant Sorrow was sung by the guitarist/lead vocalist from Allison Krause' Union Station. Tim Blake Nelson, playing Delmar O'Donnell in the movie (one of the Soggy Bottom Boys) sang the lead vocal himself for the song "In the Jailhouse Now."

From what I know,Clooney is not the one singing.Im not sure who was singing,but I do know they were authentic bluegrass singers,and I know the soundtrack was hugely successful on the country charts.Im guessing that the sondtrack would list the name of the actual group. Check www.imdb.com for the credits.It lists all the songs and the artists on the soundtrack,just go to the soundtrack link.

See I thought that I saw some entertainment special on Clooney singing in O brother...I've never heard of anyone else singing it for him...I really thought that it was him.

Nope. some guy named Dan Tyminksi sings it. I saw a video of him doing it with another guy a couple of years ago at Eric Clapton's guitar festival in Dallas.
