My daughter is 15, and although she is not dating or sexually active I don't want something to happen where she gets pregnant.

Talk to her about sex and make it crystal clear that you want her to tell you when she's going to start, or thinking about becoming sexually active. When that is the case, that is when she should start birth control. If she's not sexually active, there's no point of taking birth control. Just like taking ibuprofen when you don't have a head ache, it just doesn't make sense.

I talked to my daughter and told her everything. I wanted to make sure that she was protected. We went to the Health Dept before she became active. She took the pills for about a year before becoming active. That way she was protected from an unwanted pregnancy but not STD's Condoms are the only way to prevent that except for Abstinence

Talk to her about it and don't come on here. I'm sick of parents turning to society to raise their kids, i understand where you're coming from but this isn't our issue it's between her and you, you need to have enough trust to bring this up with her and voice your concerns be like i know you're not sexually active but for my peace of mind if you should decide to be sexually active i would like to know so we may take the necessary precautions to keep you safe from unwanted pregnancy.Be a mother not a friend.

Wait until she is dating.

By the way, I highly commend you on being responsible with your daughter. Many parents would not bother or would be against giving their daughters birth control.
