I had to have a c-section with my first son because I failed to get past 5 cm...after being in labor for 24 hours and dealing with very painful contractions...I just wanted him out at that point. I am currently 30 weeks pregnant with my second son and am opting to have a c-section this time. I am worried that I won't be able to even go into labor in the first place (was induced with baby #1, carried him 42 weeks, I never went into labor) The hospital broke my water and gave me petocin to start my labor. So I have the same fear this time, and would rather forego hours of labor only to end up having to have another c-section.

Some women do not want to go through the pain of natural birth, others want to keep their genital area in tact, and others seem to think the recovery is easier. I would not have a C-section unless I absolutely had to b/c the recovery time is longer as a C-section is major surgery. Also, you cannot exercise for 6 weeks or longer, and I know people who have had C-sections that still have belly pain several months afterward. I have had one vaginal birth, and I felt great 3 days afterward. This would not have been the case if I had a C-section. I plan on another vaginal delivery w/ the baby I'm carrying now (24 weeks).

Most doctors won't perform a c-section just because the patient wants one. Most hospitals wouldn't allow it, either. In the real world it needs to medically necessary. I had c-sections because of a breech baby and a very large baby. It's major surgery, has a rough recovery, and is quite painful. And if it wasn't necessary my insurance wouldn't have paid for it!!

In Hollywood many women have c-sections and I think it's because they have the cash to persuade doctors to do anything they want. Plus they can schedule it, get in and get out, without too much time in the hospital.

Some women don't want the pain or hassle of vaginal birth.
Some women think that their vagina will change and they don't want something..not normal.
Some women want the baby to come on a certain date.
Some women have very narrow pelvis' and cannot deliver a baby.

Vaginal is best for you and baby. C-sections take longer to heal and you have this horrible scar on your abdomen and your stomach muscles are cut to get to the baby, and those muscles never go back to normal. So you wont be able to tone up after a section like u could after vaginal.

I had a c-section and that i are transforming into numerous comments from women individuals who think of I had an worry-free way out. I merely chortle because of the fact I went via properly over 24 hours of hard artwork and over 3.5 hours of pushing without drugs (no longer via selection, yet because of the fact the dr positioned the epidural in incorrect) and that i had to be taken in for an emergency c-section. i do no longer think of those women individuals comprehend that a c-section is seen a considerable surgical treatment and has extra area impacts, and issues than organic childbirth has (and no i'm no longer asserting that there are no longer any detrimental aspects with organic) It additionally demands extra restoration time than organic transport does. Regardless each and every lady is diverse and it rather is her superb to be certain what's sweet for her, without being made to experience incorrect approximately it. this is the situation with women individuals on occasion, as a exchange of sitting around judging, why cant they only help being mothers with one yet another.

Some women prefer to schedule their delivery or fear complications during a vaginal delivery, especially if they have had a previous c-section. Other women worry about being "stretched" during a vaginal delivery.
I personally would never opt for a c-section if given the choice. Most women recover faster after a vaginal delivery and are able to enjoy their babies more. My sister could barely hold her newborn for weeks after her c-section.

alot like the convenience of being able to schedule a delivery date,i would assume that is why so many celebrities have c-sections...i had a vaginal birth and it did not hurt one bit...the epidural controlled the pain and once i delivered and the meds were out i was out of bed showering 90 minutes after giving birth....a c-section is major surgery and involves a host of post op risks in itself, from infections to wounds not healing

pushing out children do horrible things to your inners. i had 3 children in less than 4 yrs and the last 2 weighed over 10 lbs kegal smegal there is no exercise known to man-kind that can repair that kind of damage. so what may not seem medically necessary at the time may actually me medically necessary 10 yrs later( bladder lift, uterus lift, vaginal repair/tightening)
