The positive line is really faint. Is this okay? An HPT tells you exactly one thing: your urine either has detectable pregnancy hormone in it, or it doesn't. The darkness or lightness of a line doesn't mean much. Generally speaking, a very light line can mean there is a small amount of hCG in your urine, and a very dark line can mean there is a larger amount of hCG in your urine. This is why you may get a faint positive at 10 DPO but a darker positive at 18 DPO. However, this is not always true. Tests are all different, and even tests in the same box may differ in sensitivity. Comparing light/dark lines will just drive you nuts. If you see a line in the "results" window, you're preg!

I would do another test in a few days, but I've learned by reading the instructions that come with the test that when you get a line no matter how faint means you're pregnant, but if you want to make sure take another test or go and see your doc and have a blood test which will definitely answer your question.

Once, when I thought I was pregnant, I kept taking tests, and always got the real faint line, but in the end it turned out that it was just the cheap tests reacting that way. The best thing to do is go to the doctor for a blood test, that will tell you definitively what is going on. Good luck and I hope you get the answer you're looking for!

no if the line is faint that means your levels aren't that high yet. Take one in a few days it will get darker. and I was told by a doctor the only way you can get a false positive is if you just had a miscarriage or baby within like 6 weeks. Other than that it is accurate because it detects even the slightest pregnancy hormone.

Girl you are pregnant!!! I just did a home test on the 22 and it did the same thing to me and I didn't beleave it so I went to the doc. and it was a YES! I cryed an cryed but you are pregnant as they told me no matter how faint the second line is if its there then you ae pregnant. this also means that you are newly pregnant meaning not that far along. What you can do is The FIRST DAY of your last period to today that is how far along you are. of exsample FIRST DAY of my last period was Jan. 27 so now I am 6 weeks and 2 days or 44 days pregnant. Good luck to you and your new baby. :)

It's very rare for false positives to occur. A line is a line so you are pregnant! My first test was faint too so I took another one the following morning. Good luck and congrats!!!!

Any type of positive, faint or not, generally means you are pregnant. It is way more common to get a false negative. I would schedule an appoint with your doctor for conformation... and perhaps get some prenatal vitamins from the store meanwhile. Good luck and congrats! :)

You need to go to the Dr. because even a faint line is considered positive. There are some conditions that can cause a false positive though, like a kidney infection.

I would take it as your pregnant. Since whenever I took a pregnancy test the second line was always faint.
