Well isn't he eating food too? At that age mine were drinking more when it wasn't a "meal" time--meaning solids also, and less if it was accompanied by cereal, fruit etc.

Breastmilk or formula?

Your baby will hit a growth spurt very soon (around six months) if he hasn't already. Also, teething starts as early as four months for some babies, so your baby could be teething.

Babies eat different amounts at different times for a variety of reasons. Some of the things that might affect whether your baby eats more or less at a particular feeding are:

1) growth spurts (eat more)
2) teething (eat less)
3) being sleepy (eat less)
4) sleeping longer at night (eat more during the day)
5) being distracted or in an exciting place, such as outside or around other people (eat less)

I wouldn't worry too much. As long as your baby is wetting lots of diapers every day, gaining weight, and acts happy and active, he is probably fine. After all, do you eat the same amount of feed every time you eat?

You eat different amount at different meals don't you? So you son does too. I had one baby who used to go to sleep on the breast, I had to flick her feet to wake her enough to finish, then I realized that if she was sleeping she was full enough. It takes till they are falling asleep and losing interest in the bottle they can't tell time so they never cared how long or how short it took. Bottle feeding a baby always makes you want him to finish the number of ounces you have in the bottle because you can see it. But take your cues from his nursing behavior.

Yes, it's normal. Do you eat the same amount at every meal? No, and neither do babies! Sometimes he's hungrier. It should take him about 15 minutes to finish a 6-ounce bottle - faster if he's really hungry and slower if he's just nursing it (no pun intended).

i would say this is fine. children get thirsty and or hungry at different times so its fine. cause children can just have growth sperts lol but you know its fine and it also would depend on what the weather is like outside or in your home.
if its more warm in your home then he will drink more and if its cold then he wont
dont worry your child is just making it. when hes thirsty then let him drink
