I charge 100.00/hour, but I know therapists that charge significantly more and some who charge somewhat less. Insurance often covers therapy, but if yours doesn't, still check with private mental health providers in your area because many will work with people on a sliding scale. Other resources are colleges in your area that offer graduate programs in Psychology or Counseling. If you meet financial guidelines you may even qualify for State or County based programs. Good luck and remember that recognizing you have a problem and wanting to get some help is a good step toward solving the problem.

you can have this done by a person who has a masters degree and is trained in the use of this treatment method.
i tell you this as you may find that you can pay less to a M.Sc.
then a PhD.
other then that anywhere from being on a sliding pay scale to 30 or as much as 200. dollars an hour . you can pay much more if you like we do need the money. if you are short of money ask for a referal to someone that works on a sliding pay scale or in some cases will treat you on a payment plan lots of means to pay .
i would be interested in knowing how you know you need this but thats another question.

it really depends on many factors
(1) where you live - therapy is more expensive in urban areas than it is in rural areas
(2) what type of therapist you want to see - someone with a masters degree in psychology will charge the least; someone with a masters degree in social work will charge slightly more; psychologists will charge more; psychiatrists will charge even more
(3) how much experience the therapist has - someone who is just starting out will likely charge less than someone who has been in practice for a long time
(4) your income - many therapists work on a sliding fee basis, which means that you pay what you are able to pay
(5) how often you want to go and how long you plan to be in therapy - therapists charge per session, so you will obviously pay more if you want to go more often or for a longer period of time

in a rural area, a therapist may have a standard fee between $40-100 (less if they are working on a sliding fee basis). in a city, a therapist will probably charge between $125-250 (again, less if they are working on a sliding fee basis)

Why not just stop thinking? by being here, now. Pay attention to this moment, it costs far too much to rearrange the very cause of the problem. Be present.
