When writing a book always create from the imagination. You don't need to base your island on a real island. Put your characters on an island of your own creation. Don't be afraid
to experiment in your writing and exhaust every creative avenue
within you. Good luck. You could even name the island after
something you like or make the name of the island a variation of
your name. That is what I think anyway. I have written a few
manuscripts in my time, so I know.
