I really liked the first 3 books, and the movies were good too I recently purchased Hannibal Rising and was very disappointed. What is your opinion of the book.

I thought it was a horrible book, too. I *think* the movie was written before the book, which would make sense because it really did feel like Harris was just copying and pasting stuff right out from a screenplay into what should have been novel writing format (as he constantly switched from past and present tense).

I read this book because I wanted to get inside of Hannibal's mind. It lacked any sort of character's thoughts. There was very little talking (agian, something that is used for screenplay format) compared to Silence.

I think that if Harris wrote a good screenplay, then he shouldn't have written the book, just my opinion.

I honestly did enjoy the movie better...

I was bummed that Harris wrote a prequel rather than a sequel. "Life with the Lectors" would have been a far more interesting book in my opinion.
