It's still a tough call to make on how Wade Phillips will turn out. He has inherited a very good team that should do very well. I look for him to make the best of this situation.

Was it a good decision? only time will tell, but it was the right decision, the main problem with the boys last year was the defense, in particular the pass defense, parcells schemes were to conservative and that caused Dallas to get beat deep to often. Wade will have Ware focusing on the QB and stopping the run, not dropping back into pass coverage, like parcells did on the majority of his plays. Wade runs a more aggressive defense that wont leave Roy Williams in single coverage on a wr, if he covers anyone it will be a Rb or Te, something he is more suited to. Also, people will say his record in past playoffs is not good, but unless I'm mistaken Dungy's wasn't very good till this year, and that is why Tampa got rid of him. Plus, Wade is a good ol Texas boy, not some conman from new jersey
Wade 5 seasons as a head coach has a record of 45-35 (not bad) with only 1 losing season

These people are crazy! Wade Phillips has a decent track record. Not good, not bad. He ten games over .500. He's 45-35 as a head coach. He made the playoffs three out of his five years as a head coach. I think he'll do a decent-to-good job for us. If he does great, I'll be surprised.. but I definitely expect a winning record at the minimum!

I think that Wade Phillips job is safe right now. He isn't going anywhere anytime soon. Granted that Jason Garrett stayed on as OC but you know it runs deeper than the money for Jason Garrett. That guy bleeds blue and white ya know. He is a true Cowboy. And as far as Wade Phillips goes, as of now I think he is doing a tremendous job and has nothing to worry about!

Well, Wade Phillips does not have a very good record as a head coach. I feel that Jerry Jones would have been better off with Norv Turner.

in my opinion it was a bad choice. Wade phillips is the kind of guy you want running your d-fense not your whole team. he has a bad track record as a head coach and will probably send the cowboys south in the standings. it was a bad idea for the cowboys organization.

Terrible decision in my opinion. Wade Phillips' track record in the post season is terrible, three first round exits. While he is a big preacher of defense (one of the best defensive minds in football), his past experience at the head coaching level speaks for itself.
In my mind, there HAD to be somebody better to step in as the head coach. What about Rivera from the Bears?

I think it was a so-so choice; i think he is definitely better as a head coach than Norv Turner is, but i think the Cowboys needed a fresh face, like a Ron Rivera. Thing is, if the 'Boys dont improve their secondary, and their offensive line, they arent getting near the Super Bowl.

It will be quite hard to follow up Parcells, the Cowboys probably will struggle next season, but id give them a few years to build up their defense, especially their secondary. And I think that Phillips can build the team up, but he wont be the one that leads them back to glory.
