I am planning a trip to India for next year. I really want to take an elephant safari tour and I know you can do this in some national parks but I was wondering if anyone had any info on Elephant safaris that range in 1-2 days. All of the ones I have been able to find are 5 or more days. I am looking for something in Rajasthan.

Sure. You should be able to find elephant rides that last from 30 minutes to several hours. You can always ask at the front desk at the hotel. You should be able to also walk down the street and see signs in English in front of local travel agencies advertising the same thing.

The guy below who mentioned Corbett National Park is correct; I went on an hour elephant ride there (and saw a tiger!). Any decent hotel will be able to find you an elephant ride if you talk to the front desk.

I can tell you of one place where you can go for one day elephant safari tour. It is Thekkady elephant safari in Kerala.The place can be approached from Kottayam orChengannur.
