I'm 21 and still don't have my license. People have made it very clear I need to get one. My parents drive me everywhere and I feel bad because it takes up so much of there time. I just have his fear of driving. I mean what if I get into an accident? What if a policeman stops me? What if I am driving on the highway and I go too fast and slam into the car infront of me? How will I know what speed to go at? I'm just so scared and I drove my mom's car once and I couldn't even turn it we went right straight into a tree.

We're on the same boat. I'm 21, too, and I've never even tried starting a car! But I'm planning on taking lessons right before I start working so I won't hafta bug anyone to drive me!

17. If you get into an accident, you get your car fixed. if a cop stops you, you pay the ticket, you shouldnt be so close to the car in front of you on the highway if your slamming into him and you look at the little sign on the side of the road that tells you exactly what speed you need to go. I know some people who have never ever had a licence and are in their 60's, i just think thats awful. driving is my most favorite thing ever.i love that freedom more than anything. i really hope you get over the fear and see how much fun it can be and dont worry about things so much, if it happens theres not much you can do about it, but that shouldnt deter you from driving altogether.

16. Don't be scared!! I had the exact some problem as you did. I drove behind the wheel and I always had a constant fear that I was going to turn to much or speed to fast, etc. But don't worry b/c every one goes through this stage. It was makes us human and it also makes her mature better and take on responsibility. IT doesn't matter what age you get your license pssh! All I"m saying is, it is a great thing to have b/c you are in control of when you get to go somewhere or some place and not depend upon others!

Good luck my friend!

I was 17 when I got mine. Its natural at first to be scared of driving, I mean you are operating a several ton piece of metal that could cause damage, lol, but don't worry about it. If you're careful to pay attention to everything when learning to drive, you will be fine. Just have faith in yourself and you will learn! Just get who ever you want to teach you to take you to an empty lot so that you can practice the basics and soon enough you'll feel comfortable enough to go out on the road...just be confident and you'll catch on quick! :)
