Most of you must have been born in the eighties or something and get a warm, fuzzy feeling in your stomach when ESPN plays clips of the Manning family 1985 Christmas when Archie eats a plum pudding. Pathetic.

Joe Montana: 16-7, 4 Super Bowl Victories, 45 TD's, 21 INT's, 3 Super Bowl MVP, 11 TDs and 0 INT in Super Bowl play, Won the 1989 Super Bowl 55-10. Montana had a good supporting cast and he had Jerry Rice.
Peyton Manning: 7-6, 1 Super Bowl Victory, 18 TD's, 15 INT's, 1 TD and 1 INT in Super Bowl play, Won the 2006 Super Bowl 29-17. The most important player on his team, but Marvin Harrison and Reggie Wayne are right there with him.
Joe Montana could close out the big games like no other. He wanted the pressure. Peyton Manning gets nervous and just doesn't play as good in big games. He broke out of that slump this year -- whether it's temporary or permanent is to be seen.

Peyton is as good as Joe Montana. I think Peyton will probably win one or two more championships, and he'll probably break most of the records too. Just remember that Joe had Jerry Rice. Now Marvin Harrison is a good wide receiver, but he is no Jerry Rice. I dont think you can judge Peyton Manning for not winning enough Super Bowls, because he's only played in one. And sometimes, a QB cant make sure his team wins a game. Oh by the way Seein Butts. I know you must be a big Pats fan but stop hating on Manning for a while. It makes you sound like you are 9 years old.

You could argue that Montana has more Super Bowl wins than Manning. But I think that when its all said and done. Peyton will be considered better.

At the same stage of their careers, Manning might be a bit better. Montana won a couple rings. If Manning can get another ring or two, he'll probably be considered the best ever.

He's only won ONE ring while Montana won FOUR and he's had a history of choking in both college in the pros. Montana, on the other hand, was a legend at Notre Dame with his comeback in the Sugar Bowl and then of course his amazing comeback ability in the NFL.
Manning has to win another couple of rings to be compared to Tom Brady, let alone Montana (who in my mind stands alone when it comes to qbs). Remember, this year Manning did not have a great post season and had to rely on his team to help him win. Montana never even threw an interception in his four super bowl appearances and Manning already threw one in his only appearance on his second throw!

He is better imo.
I never saw Joe Montana audibling at the line when he saw the defense was in a vunerable formation and exploiting those weaknesses.

HOW CAN PEOPLE EVEN PLACE PEYTON MANNING'S NAME NEXT TO JOE MONTANA'S. THIS GENERATION MONTANA IS TOM BRADY BECAUSE TOM BRADY IS GOING TO BE THE BEST QB OF ALL TIME. TOM BRADY WILL WIN MORE RINGS THAN JOE MONTANA AND WILL BREAK ANY PEYTON MANNING'S RECORDS. ***** PEYTON MANNING AND HIS LOSER FAMILY.
