If you don't want a virus, don't click it. Also, there are many sites that "give you a free laptop" by making you sign up for something, and by doing this you are also wasting your money. Turn on the popup-blocker by clicking "Tools," "Internet Options", and then "Privacy" in IE and you will see the Popup-Blocker Settings. Many toolbars also have the Popup-Blocker Option, like Google Toolbar. If the ad is not a pop-up, simply ignore it.

get an ad-ware and spy-ware scanner (like ad-aware or spy bot search and destroy) and scan that should get rid of them. Usualy you have to sign up for like 5 other things at like $9 a month to get your "free laptop".

I think scam. It comes up on everyones computer if you don't use pop up blockers and if everyone got one, the companies would be out of business.
