I had 3 pregnancies and never reached my due date.
Actually gave birth around the time where you are at now.
But I bet you can't wait for it to be over by now. Just have your bag ready to go.
Good luck.

A baby can actually be born two weeks before your due date or two weeks after your due date, and would still be born 'on time'. Because doctors don't know the exact date of conception, they estimate a date based on the 1st day of your last period. Babies are often born 'early' or 'late' but if they show up within the two weeks before/after, no problem.
It's only when a baby is born sooner than the 2 weeks before or later than the 2 weeks after, that are considered early or late.
I have had a child born about 6 weeks before my due date, several born 1-2 weeks before, one born 2 months before...and one born exactly on the due date. Today they are all strong and healthy.
So the other answers are correct. Since you are 2 weeks before your due date, you can have your baby at any moment, and he or she will show up right on time!!
The advice to get your bag ready was also very correct: if you haven't packed, you should get it done ASAP.
If you want more info check online. Baby Center has a due date calculator, and has info to help you with your child from new born to several years older (possibly even pre-teen or teen, I can't remember...sorry).
Congratulations Mom!
Hope this helps!

A full term pregnancy is anywhere from 37 to 42 weeks, and approx. 80% of women give birth between those times. You are already there, so your baby should be fine, he/she is already full term!! Congratulations, you can expect it and embrace it any time now without worrying about baby's development!!

If you are 38 weeks then your baby should be fine if it is born now or if it decides to wait. If your doctor feels the need they will induce you. So don't worry.

My sister delivered at 40 weeks (C-section). I thought it was insane that her Dr made her wait that long.

you don't make what? That baby is coming when he/she wants to, and there is nothing you can do about it. :o)
The gestation period is a guide, not a rule.
