I think we have yet to find that out - Bush may have pulled some far more sneaky tricks than we know about now. It'll take time for it to come out -if it ever does.

George Bush being appointed President, even though he lost the election. Since then, especially after he started a war in Iraq, the USA has plummeted in world opinion and stature. Taking on the Taliban was correct, and instead of concentrating on getting rid of them, when we had the World behind us after 9/11, he diverted into Iraq, for no reason, and forgot about the Taliban. Now the Taliban is back, and Iraq is a mess, as is our Country. And because of our debacle in Iraq, North Korea is now thumbing their noses at us, along with Iran, China, Russia, the Hezbollah, Venezuela, etc. And some idiot is still talking about Clinton and cigars????? God help us all!!!!!!!!!!

Just so everyone knows...9/11 wasn't a political event!!!!

I would say the most important event was the passing of the 'Patriot Act'. Believe it or not my fellow Americans, the 'Patriot Act' is a loophole around your rights. With this considered, you technically only have one ammendment left. That's the Second ammendment. But, don't hold your breath, cause word on the Capitol Hill 'streets' is that one will be attacked next, because of 'gang violence'.

More like total control.

Ever here of the US militia? yeah I didn't think so. That's because if you were actually to try to overthrow the government (like it says to do in the Decleration of Independence in the event that the government became too powerful.) you would be shot down. literally.

Presidential Election of 2000, 9/11 and the subsequent illegal war in iraq based on lies of the Bush administration. And, the patriot act where the Bush administration is illegally involved with the judicial system of firing judges and replacing them because he doesn't agree with their decisions. In other words, the dismantling of the U.S constitution is the biggest political event of the past 10 years.

Oh G-Man, are you trying to turn me on with that comment?

From 1997 on...

Lewinsky-gate.
~Without Lewinsky, Gore would have won handily. And the world and nation would be much different.

Followed closely by 9/11.
~Without 9/11 Bush never would have won a second term, and the Democrats would have taken back the Congress in 2002 or 2004. There would have been no last-gasp of the Gingrich Revolution.
