i have a family memeber who is in a lawsuit after getting hit by a car. he has a lawyawr and is seeing the doctors and evrythign and the case is being built. is this good? how long will take and is the amount he will get in the seetlement be..life changing?

thats true on an 'IF' he wins case....but i think that the lawyers would not take the case if there was no chance of winning.

I cannot, nor can anyone else, tell you whether he'll win in court OR get a settlement (they're NOT the same thing!). Keep in mind HE MAY LOSE. On average, for a negligence case, in the state I live in it takes about 9 months IF:
1. there are only two parties involved.
2. there is no unordinary backlog at the courthouse.
3. there was no felony involved in the event which is the crux of the suit.

It can take as long as 5 years for a single suit between two parties (rare, but it happens).
