i don't think it should be about punishment. i think it should be about learning from your mistakes and growing.
cheating is wrong--i think everybody agrees on that point, but it has to be up to the two individuals involved as to how they work things out between them so that they can regain the trust and continue in a healthy relationship.

I am almost sure that the Qur'an doesn't talk about homosexuality and its penalty except in the case of the people of Lot. The second verse you quoted (4:16) has been translated as "persons (man and woman)" in the translation I have but right now I can't check other sources due to limited access. Anyways, the two persons are obviously a man and a woman. Allah knows best. P.S. Don't depend on translation too much. The Arabic phrase saya "Wallaty ya'teenal fahishata min nisalikum" which means "and those of your women who commit illegal sexual intercourse". I use Yusuf Ali mostly. However, if something seems strange to you, check other translations as well. As for the issue of the two men, it is one of the very small chances but the larger opinion is that it means a man and a woman.

Both the man and the woman are wrong for cheating in the first place. They should both be punished equally. One is not better or less to blame then the other no matter who is doing the cheating. It is very sinful and selfish and immoral no matter who is doing the cheating.

Neither! If you want to save the relationship and truly live up to your vows (for better or worse), then the question should not be asking about punishing rather it should be asking about forgiving. After all, what good would come from punishing. Think of what good can come from forgiving.

its equal, except i believe its worse if a man cheats just for the mere fact that his hands and fingers can go places, his face can go down between her legs, he will kiss her all over. of course the female can do these things but unless she is a hoe it is more likely a cheating woman will do all that.
