First focus on what is in your area - retail, restaurant, agricultural, automotive, oilfield, or whatever - break this down. Then see what you like, what you may be qualified for. Open the yellow pages in your phonebook and just see what is out there. You might even make a few phone calls and create a job for yourself. Or start your own business. I have not worked more than 6 years for someone elese than myself in the past 30 years. Its fun being your own boss.

Any job is a good job. Wherever you apply go dressed like you are ready to start work that minute. Take a copy of your resume they can keep. If you don't know how to write one, ask yahoo questions for help.

IF you have a college education, I would recommend you work at a State, County or City job. They have some of the best benefits, retirement plans, medical coverage, chance for advancement, etc.

If you dont have the degree, try working at a bank as a teller. Or look at a State, City or County job.
