Does the Zodiac killer still exist? Also is the code to help animals?

they never caught anyone for that,it's probably still considered an open case

His first killings were just about FORTY years ago. He would likely be in his 70s now, if he is still alive. A few high profile suspects have passed away over the years--the best known died around 1991.
The codes and letters were used to frustrate and humiliate/ridicule police.
