It's cute, and you'll be able to tell a lot about your listener's mental accuity by how quickly they "get" it. Whatever line you use, make sure you smile and deliver the line casually, or otherwise you come across as desperate.

I somehow feel my old english teacher would have a fit.. She would say that you would have to put U and ME together to be grammatically correct.

I find is hilariously cheesy. If someone said it to me I might just talk to them (if they used it jokinly) otherwise, find something better.
