I am currently running Windows Vista. In the Bios and the cpu test it shows that I have a 5200+. Infact eveywhere I look on the system it shows up as a 5200 with all of the specs. The only place that I can see that it is a 5000+ is under device manager.

What processor do I have? How do I update the driver to show in the device manager that is a 5200?
Please help

Well despite what the last two answers said, you have a 5200+. The difference between the 5000+ and 5200+ is the amount of cache, the 5000+ has 2x512, while the 5200+ has 2x1024. So you do have a 5200+. As for how to get the device manager to recognize it, I wouldn't worry about it. I can tell you are using Vista, so its probably just an issue with it being new. It doesn't matte what name the device manager is giving it, it will work as it is supposed to.

it rather is a problematical call. The processors are surprisingly comparable, even nonetheless the m7750n with the AMD processor has a miles better clock velocity. on the different hand, the pix chip interior the m7750n (the GeForce 6150) is in all probability extra efficient than the onboard Intel chip. without understanding what all you intend on utilising the laptop for, i might lean in the direction of the m7750n, yet they are very comparable.

don't get all excited dude,, you have a 5000!! it is just showing that you are running at 5200 which is very good!! this means you got one of the better chips,,,, that is if you haven't over clocked it?? my chip does the same and shows to be running faster than it was labeled for!! just luck of the draw.....

Ummm... you have the 5000+.

The bios and the cpu test may be misreporting the processor. Either way it is not costing you any performance so I would not worry about it.
