Yes, these religions are very similar, but monotheists are incapable of coexisting with each other. It always ends badly, such as the crusades, hatred etc.

I did a rapid seek in direction of the Qur'an and could no longer discover a place the place it stated that Jews, Christians, and Muslims are brothers. i can even however enable you to recognize that what that's meaning by using the term brother is referring back to the commencing place of their faith. Judaism, Christianity, and Islam all declare to have their roots and commencing place by using Abraham (Genesis 17) and the promise God made to him. relating to their ideals Christians have been suggested as Jews up till the fall of the temple in 70 A.D. Christianity relies on the success of the old testomony (Jewish) prophecies which Christ fulfilled however the Jews did (and do) no longer have confidence he's the Messiah. so as that's the main significant premise below which they are divided. Islam even however is particularly diverse. that's suggested to be a 'revelation' given to Muhammad in direction of the angel Gabriel. the subject that Jews and Christians have with the message of the Qur'an is that it tried to rewrite elementary factors of the Jewish and Christian faith by using abrogation and claiming key incidents did no longer happen. The Bible would not communicate of Islam in any experience because of the fact Islam got here to be very nearly six centuries later. long after the success of the Jewish prophecies by using Christ and the writing of the hot testomony. for my section i would not call any of them brothers because of the fact none of them have confidence which you get to Heaven the comparable way. and there is fullyyt one way. Jews and Christians are close to to a minimum of one yet another because of the fact they the two keep on with the old testomony, however the Christians even have the hot testomony. Islam on the different hand is far in the outfield by using making fake claims approximately technological information and historic previous, and entirely changing God's message from the Bible (yet in accordance to the Bible He can't substitute). that's approximately as impartial i can get with reference on your question. desire it proves effective. :)

I can only speak on behalf of a christian, but ive spent alittle bit of time studying this.
1. Judaism "came" first in order(even though God knew of all 3 from eternity past). God spoke to Abraham and through Moses. Forgiveness of sins came through sacrifices. They are still looking forward and waiting for a mesiah to come.Jews look to the Torah as God's only inspired word.
2.Christians share their roots with Judaism. Jesus Himself was a Jew, and He did not come to do away with the Torah, instead He gave Himself as the final sacrifice for sins(and was the only able to do so since He was God and sinless). Jesus is the messiah to Christians(Christ is greek for messiah.)
3. Islam also looks to Abraham, Moses, and Jesus as prophets. Yet there are many places where the Quran differs from the Bible or the Torah. Muslims do not see Jesus as the Son of God who was put to death by romans, but just a prophet of God.
Yes, all 3 do look to SOME of the same people as prophets of God's revelation to mankind, but the 3 are not in the slightest "the same"!
As I said before, i am a christian and can give you the most information about that subject. I know the largest diffrence between christianity and the others, and that would be that Judaism and Islam are religions of observing the correct rituals and laws. Christianity does not expect you to be able to perfectly follow the law. Instead, the penalty for the disobedience has already been paid- and any "good works" or talk of "love thy neighbor as yourself" is done out of thankfulness to God- not fear of damnation.

I think you're asking if we're all physically, like genetically, related? Like, of the same people?
And I'd think that's true. I think for the most part, they are brethren in that sense...Jews and Muslims inparticular appearance-wise look very similar in the Middle East.
I'm no historian, but we came from similar if not the same roots...and it's not that "we" can't get along, it's just that "we" choose not too, "we" referring to everyone as a whole - which is sad.

Our Creator would like all mankind to see themselves as brethren. At least, that is what Jesus taught. As you can see from the Muslims comment above, he does not believe that. Every man walks in the image of his own God. Not every religion
teaches that God is approachable and wants a personal relationship with us.

All three worship the same God. It's sad that people are so violent and hateful--I hope we can get over it some day.
The Bible and Quran say that Abraham was the father of the Jews/Israelites through Isaac, and the father of the Arabs through Ishmael. The original Muslims were Arabs, but millions of non--Arab people have converted to Islam.
Is the gourd or the slipper a reference to Monty Python's Life Of Brian? I loved that movie.

YES!
You got it. :]
Progressive revelation: all the monotheistic religions agree. They were each revealed for a separate time period, and as society evolved, new religions had to be sent down to us. The rules of ancient Egypt wouldn't be a good way to govern the modern United States, would they? The reason there are still so many different religions is that people didn't change their religion each time new ones came. The Jews didn't all convert to Christianity when Judaism was outdated, and God felt humanity was ready to progress and sent down Christ, for example. And the Christians didn't all become Muslims when Muhammad brought down yet another new religion for yet another new day.
And then came the Baha'i faith :]

Jews and Muslims are descendents of Abraham. But Abraham (the father of the Jews) rejected Ishmael (the father of the Muslim culture). However, Jesus said, "before Abraham was born, I am!" (John 8:58) Ultimately, we are all children of God. But many have chosen a path away from Him.
