In Nevada, prostitution is legal in some counties. They have to follow very tight liscencing laws, STD laws and be test regularally. Since 1986, when mandatory testing began, not a single brothel prostitute has ever tested positive for HIV.The mandatory condom law was passed in 1988. Now for the question, should Prostitution be legalized across the US?

Absolutely.

I'm not in favor of prostitution, but in the history of humankind, no one has ever found a way to eliminate it.

Therefore - make it legal, take huge amounts of money OUT of the hands of organized crime, and provide protection for both the women in the business and their clients.

Every prostitute must be licensed - and inspected by a doctor on a regular basis. They pay taxes on their earnings. Establishments must have a separate license, and they pay taxes and provide the doctors.

Heavy fines for people who try to evade the law and practice without a license. Jail for falsifying medical records.

Seems to me like a win win situation.

In a way prostitution is exactly like a transaction that requires someone to buy ownership of another person's body, but what gives ppl the right to market and sell people?. If our law claims that everyone in America is equal how can a society in which everyone is equal put a price on a human being? as if they were just good for the quality of time spent in bed? How would anyone deal with the crimes that could victimize these women risking their lives to make money by selling themselves? Let's say the human traffickers don't give a **** about them and they are practically beaten everyday and most of their earnings don't aren't even theirs. Who's gonna fight for them if thats the job and life they choose to live? There are bigger issues at large that cause many women to resort to prostitution and have you even realized that? I think that this government really needs to provide proper benefits for all classes, obviously there is a huge gap between the rich and the poor and many ppl in the middle. If the majority of this country thinks prostitution is a great option for those who can obtain jobs or proper benefits from our government, our future generations are f*cked.

When handled in a responsible manner, prostitution is a victimless crime. Prostitutes perform a vital service to society. It is a sad state of affairs that there is no protection for them outside a few counties in one state.
