reggie bush played for USC. And Adrian Peterson was and is better than bush. Ask yourself this. Adrian peterson averages like 30 carries a game. bush only averaged about 17-18 in his junior year. Bush played a far better team with much better team, with a heisman winning qb, and two of the best recievers in college. They also, had the best offensive line in college. Adrian peterson o-line sucked and he has no passing game to keep defenses from stacking the box. Also, bush didnt run short yard, goalline situations, keeping his yards per carry very high. Plus, the run defenses bush played against averaged about 50th in the country. Oklahoma played against much better defensive teams with a lot less help. The perfect example that bush was overrated is the fact that Lendale white has out rushed bush over their careers and has scored more touchdowns and has started more games than bush. He averaged 6.6 yards per carry. he at one point was second in the nation in yards per carry and he carried the ball in short yardage and goal line which would have hurt his average. Put bush in at oklahoma and he wouldnt be nearly as hyped. Put peterson in at USC and his numbers would be even better.

Heck, I'd love to have both (or either) of them, but for different reasons.

Adrian Peterson shows potential as an every-down back in the NFL, and is probably the better rusher of the two. He seems to be able to get a couple yards out of almost every play, and that is a VERY good attribute for a back to have.

Reggie Bush is explosive, and he's a playmaker. He functions best in situations like NO, where he can trade carries with a power back. And if he breaks into open field, he WILL make you pay. He has a huge price-tag for someone that can't play every down, but when you see huge TDs like the one against Urlacher and Da Bears, it seems worth it. Plus, you could stick him in as a WR or a return man, depending on the rest of your lineup.

If I had to choose one of them, I would say Reggie. Watching the NFL, it seems like split backs are the future of the game, and Reggie fits that role perfectly.

Reggie Bush

Right now Reggie Bush has the advantage because of his explosiveness, but Bush wasn't made to be a true RB in the NFL. Peterson is however. If healthy, Peterson has the better upside for the fact that he is bigger, stronger, and more reliable as a every down back.

Adrian peterson is the guy who jumped into the endzone and broke his collar bone. He was out the rest of the season. Reggie is multidimensional , you are not ever going to see peterson line up as a wide-out. they are different in many ways. Peterson is not in the NFL yet let him get there and then we can see what he is capable of. No one is better than anyone else they are just different , everyone has a skill in their field and they just have to use it to their advantage.
