JUST like any other city in the world,MANILA is a safe place to visit always have precautions especially in talking to strangers..

just like any big city there are dangers but i think manila is safe and super fun city to visit. just be a smart traveler and be aware of your surroundings and don't attract attention to yourself. shopping in manila is great by the way

Manila, like any other big city in the world, is only as dangerous as you make it. If you walk down some dark street by yourself with a ton of gold around your neck then you can expect to be mugged.
So, to keep safe, dont't wear excessive amount of jewellery, don't flash your wallet around and try to keep to well lit areas. Use common sense.

Manila is definitely a safe place to visit. You must be careful as people will rip you off but there are security guards in every store you go to in makati.

It depends on where u r and wat time will u be hanging out...so far, i've been there many times but i have yet to encounter any incident of a crime where i myself was a victim...yes, crime rates are pretty high in Manila but be street smart. Its a fabulous place to be and teh city never sleeps...if u must, tag along a local when u go to different places so as not to be seen as lost.At least u will have someone speaking tagalog for u...happy travelling to manila...mabuhay!

absolutely. it's not like you visit there and you get mugged or shot dead. the filipinos have more class than what you are reading or hearing from the media.
