I want to make my husband a romantic dinner for Val's day. Only we will have to celebrate it on the 13th because he works (as a police officer) on the 14th. Any ideas???

Well make sure you set a beautiful table candles and all, then a starter like shrimp cocktail, then a nice tossed salad, beef or salmon steak dinner, and chocolate dipped strawberries with champagne (or sparkling cider) for dessert. If you have time run him a bath for a nice long soak.......Happy Valentine's!!

Generally speaking, you can't go wrong with beef and potatoes... unless you make burgers and fries. It's good, but it's not special occasion good. Roast beef and mashed potatoes or steak and baked potatoes would be great. It's a hearty meal, a manly meal, lets him know your focus was on him when you were deciding what to make for dinner. As for desserts, it really depends on what he's like. Me, personally, I'm all about the chocolate. That and cheesecake. But one of my best friends likes things like Twizzlers and Swedish Fish. Unfortunately, men are more complicated than women when it comes to that stuff. Barring an allergy, chocolate is pretty much a surefire winner with women. With men, there isn't one.

Depends on what he likes and your cooking skills. My personal favorite would be Filet Mignon, King Crab, and Sauteed Mushrooms. With my wife in lingerie for dessert. Good luck.

Pasta is always good for a romantic dinner. (yummy!)
Maybe fettucini alfredo, with of course, a nice wine. And something chocolate for desert.

Depends on what he likes....make his favorite dish and his favorite cake or dessert and decorate by placing roses and get wine. My boyfriend personally loves hamburger steak, so I'm making that with the fries he loves and making him chocolate cake but I'm going to do them in heart shaped pans and do it candle light.
