Eyelash yarn is great to use with wool felting projects.

You can make slippers, hats, mittens, iPod holders, and purses out of feltable wool and knit in a few rows of eyelash yarn.

The eyelash yarn won't felt, so it will stand out pretty well.

The source at Crystal Palace lists a lot of purses and some cute hats near the bottom of the screen.

I shop at Michaels a lot, and they had a really cute idea. They used a regular white sweatshirt. They cut down the middle (From the neck to the bottom seam). They stitched each side by hand to make it more of a camisole/jacket, using a white satiny and probably DMC type thread. They crocheted a collar out of white eyelash yarn, and sewed it on. They added little dots all over the front with a glittery fabric paint (iridescent). The cuffs on the sleeves were cut off, and they added a crocheted ring to each sleeve to make an eyelash cuff. It was very pretty and elegant...especially considering you started off with just a plain white sweatshirt!

Other than that, at a recent craft show I saw it to embellish pillows (for home decor) and little girls' clothes. (Around the collar, cuffs, or ankles of the jeans.) It's really cute and adds a little "spunk" to stuff! You can also make cute purses and cell phone holders with just a little eyelash yarn to add a little something to those too. It's just whatever you want to add it onto. I hope this gives you some good ideas and good luck!! 0=)

I've used it to add a fun fringe to socks and gloves. You just use a thinnish knitting needle to poke through the edge of the sock. This becomes your loop into which you knit.

You have to use double-pointed needles to knit around in a circle. I've also used two circular needles, too. (Morehouse Farm Merino has a site with directions, if you haven't ever done this before. See my sources for a link.)

Lion Brand's web site has some free knitting patterns. Search for "eyelash" and you'll get some specifically for this kind of yarn. Most of them are either scarves or use the eyelash yarn to trim something.

Only just found this question. I disagree with all the people who said don't make clothing. Every baby needs a little cardigan or jacket. Even in summer it can get quite chilly. If you like you could make a matching hat and bootees. First items that have been made with love are often kept as keepsakes as they don't take up much room. There are some lovely patterns suitable for both boys and girls. I would suggest that you use one of the lovely cotton yarns that are around now. Gorgeous colours and textures. Also there are some adorable novelty buttons that you could use to finish the item. Most of all enjoy making it, whatever it is.

You can go buy a book about knitting. My friend has one. I am not sure exactly what ideas are in that book. My suggestion is go to ask.com or google.com. Type in knitting ideas and you'll get some ideas.

Good Luck : )

I just had to share: http://www.10000greatideas.com/ideadet.php?iid=659

It's basically a folly more than anything because a fun fur tea cozy wouldn't really keep a tea pot very warm.
