You can do so either by train or bus. The buses to Thailand depart from Golden Mile Complex along Beach Road in the evenings for Haadyai and other destinations in southern Thailand. These are direct buses and they usually take more than 16 hours with 3 stops at least. The trains depart Tanjong Pagar Railway Station for Kuala Lumpur, where a connection is required for the journey north. At Padang Besar along the border, a change to the Thai train is required.

You can take a bus from Singapore to Thailand. Very interesting to travel by road and more information go to Golden Mile Plaza to book your ticket. Remember to change Malaysian notes and Thai Baht. Cheers and enjoy your trip.

Yes! There is a way!
I am a hardcore backpacker! Take a bus from J.B. Larkin bus interchange and all the way to Hatdyai! VOILA! It cost less than RM95! <16 hours bus journey
Common... damn simple!

You can take the train but you will have to go thru Malaysia. Just fly, the cost comes to the same amount and its a lot quicker.
You can take the train to Kuala Lumpur and take www.airasia.com (budget airline)
