I drink chamomile tea before I go to bed. It has calming properties and is great for meditation or before going to bed. Hope it helps!

There are a number of things that you can do to help you sleep well. Firstly make sure your bedroom is a comfortable place to sleep - ensure that the temperature is not too hot or cold and that the light is blocked out by heavy curtains/blinds. Also, if possible only use your bedroom for sleeping, keep any studying / working that you do at home in a seperate room. Next, try to go to bed and wake up at the same time every night/morning. At weekends try to only have a short lie-in(e.g. an extra hour in bed only). Don't drink coffee or caffinated drinks after 2pm and don't eat an hour before going to bed. You can also try progrssive muscle relaxation: when you are lying in bed focus onyour breathing and tense and relax all you muscles one after the other e.g. your feet, then legs, the stomach etc. If you can't sleep because you are worried about things that you need to do and remember the next day, then spend a few minutes before going to bed writing list of all the things you are going to do tomorrow, theyou don't need to worry because you've got it all written down. Hope that helps.

Try some sleep medicine, like Tylenol PM or Unisom SleepGels. You can get them over the counter at WalMart and they're non-habit forming. They basically just make you drowsy to help you fall asleep. I've been having problems sleeping too, and the pills actually seem to help me a lot.
And of course make sure you have good sleeping habits, such as you always go to bed and get up at around the same time. If you go to bed late and then sleep in on weekends, like a lot of people do, that won't help you fall asleep fast when you have to go to bed early for school.

If you fall asleep at around 12 and wake up at 7:00, then the probem didn't lies with sleeping time (quantity). Its maybe on the quality. But to fall asleep faster, you can try to more relax. Like you can try to have a glass of warm milk before sleep.
