I am looking to buy a portable sound proof booth or make one but i don't know where to buy one or what i need to make it it is a gift that i am trying to surprise some one with please help.

"Sound Proof" is very difficult to achieve and it would then be called an anechoic chamber. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anechoic_chamber

The thickness of the walls of these types of walls is not very "portable" although there are mobile units that are used for hearing tests.
