For those bears fans, do you think love is making a good choice keeping Grossman in as a starter? I actually think its a great idea keeping him, becuase its his first year as a starter, and he got the Bears to the superbowl. What do you think?

Bears fan all my life.

To be honest, I am not happy with Grossman's play but it is smart to keep him. It is only his first full season and last year everyone (including myself) was so happy when he returned in a Sunday Night Football Game on ESPN and he totally sparked the offense over Kyle Orton. I heard some people wanted Orton back this year, ya right he would be a disaster. So if we brought someone in and he was playing sub-par, everyone will say "We want Grossman!"

And you hit it right on the head: HE LED US TO THE SUPER BOWL HIS FIRST FULL YEAR! Not many quarterbacks have that on their resume. He will get better In Turner's offense with another offseason of practice.

I also hope the Bears take Greg Olsen with their first pick at #31 overall so that Rex has another weapon and reliable target. If we get him, our offense will be good with a 2 TE formation (Desmond Clark and Greg Olsen). Both can catch and both can block for our dominate RB-combo. Can you imagine a dominate Bears offense throughout the year???

BEARS- SUPER BOWL XLII CHAMPS!!!

Initially, I was against Grossman ... but that lasted for a few seconds.

Fans need to realize that this was Grossman's real first season as a starter, which can dump an enormous amount of pressure on any QB in this league. Although he had a rough showing a few times, he did have a number of solid games and showed that his potential can be tapped with another season or two under his belt.

Besides, if you look at first year QB stats (full time as a starter), he beat Manning in INTs (20 to Peyton's 28) and QB Rating (73.9 vs. 71.9) while losing in yardage (3193 to 3739) and TDs (23 vs 26). When Brady took over the Patriots (and went to the SB for the win), he wrapped that season up (15 out of 16 games) with 2843 yards, 18 TDs, 12 INTs, and 86.5 QB Rating. I am not saying that Grossman will be the next powerhouse QB in the league, but his numbers are comparable to those who are regarding their first years.

A second season with Grossman will actually be quite beneficial since he will be more familiar with the offense and have gotten over the first season jitters that many QBs face. Besides, he ultimately went 13-3 in the regular season and 2-1 in this year's playoffs. Not bad for a rookie when you think about it.

He better show some improvement though

I agree with you. Rex Grossman should be a starter. Yes, the Bears lost in the Superbowl, so what! It wasn't Grossman's fault. It was mostly because of the Chicago Bears defense. Also, Grossman only threw like over 20 interceptions in the 2006 season because he needs more experience. Next year, he will do much better.

I'm not a Bears fan, but I think it's a reasonable decision. Grossman seems pretty solid and, yeah, it's his first year as starter, so it's pretty probable that he'll develop into an even stronger QB over the next few years. I mean, what's the other option? Put Griese in as starting QB?

I think saying Grossman got the Bears to the Superbowl is a bit much. He happened to be the QB of a team with a great defense and special teams. He single-handed lost a few games, and didn't really play well in a few others. I agree he didn't play too badly in the Superbowl, it wasn't his fault they lost. But they definitely could upgrade at QB in the off-season.

Grossman didn't play a down of defense. The Colts ran 84 plays on the Bear defense. Why doesn't anybody mention that?

I am a huge Bears fan. I wish that Lovie would have put Griesse in when Rex started to fall apart during the Superbowl. However I do agree with others that it was his first full season and just needs time to develop a bit more. So yes I think they should give him more time to develop and I would say I am proud of the fact that he did in fact get them to the Superbowl.

Colts are my team, but i live in indiana so i love both the Colts AND the bears.. this year is never going to top anything for the rest of my life.

I HATE Grossman, I'm sorry for you "loyal" people, but I'm pretty loyal myself, but i'm not going to stand by and watch the bears be stupid and play a piece of crap QB like Rex, they're better off playing Orton to get him experiance for the long run.

I am not a Bears fan. I wouldn't care if the Bears disappeared from the face of the earth, but I wouldn't wish Grossman on my worst enemy.
