Because insurance companies don't want socialized medicine / universal healthcare... they are the most powerful lobbying group in the USA.
It tells you a lot when you think about the 2nd richest man in America, W.Buffet, acquiring the majority of his wealty by owning insurance companies.
I understand your pt btw... if we are going to do it anyway then why not use it for a purpose that will pay off in the long run.

NO. Even if I was for socialized health care, this is a bad idea. Try a course in economics or German history to find out what happens when a government starts cranking up the printing press.

You can't use "extra" money at all! It has to be circulated into the economy. If we could just print more money, we wouldn't have a deficit!

I don't recall having adopted anyone. If you want health insurance and don't get it througjh your employer, BUY IT! Save your breath about it being too expensive. It's not too expensive if you choose to forego the plasma TV and the new Wii. If it's not important enough for people to buy on their own, why is it important enough to pick my pocket for it?
We all have a "right" to drive a Porsche, too...but we don't expect the government to pay for it.

if they print extra money, give it to me. I only like to spend tax money on services here at home. Not on wars. Or medicare for the immigrants coming here illegally.
