Actually they say that if you sing correctly, you should have no accent at all. That's what my mother says she was taught and she was a music major in college.

I went to a huge church in Greenville South Carolina,where my cousin is music director and I heard the most wonderful southern accent with those people, I was very much impressed, its totally southern the way they sung.but they sung so well, in Harmony I have been to a lot or churches but they really impressed me. never thought about broughs or accents before but when they sung,welI .I will never forget it.

Singing voices are muliticultural; they sometimes sound accented, but sometimes they don't.

Singing is a lot different than casual speaking. When you sing, you draw out your vowels and change them (somehow) so they sound different. If you listen carefully, you can tell that they still have an accent, but you don't really notice unless you're specifically paying attention.

well, see when you sing you sound totally different. i have an accent cause i'm form england, but when i sing i sound so different. It's how your vocal cords are bulit. to make you sound way different when you sing.
