They will win the AL East. There bullpen is the best in the league, They have the best shortstop in the game(Tejada), the best 2nd baseman(Roberts) in the game, a top 3 third baseman(Mora)and a top 3 catcher(Hernandez). Huff has great power potential and Markakis is the second coming of Babe Ruth while Corey Paterson can steal 50 bases with his eyes closed, the bench is deep with payton who would normally be a starter and Gibbons who would be the everyday DH. Cabrera has the nastiest stuff in the league and if he can get things right in his head, he'd be on the same level as Johan Santana, Bedard is also coming into his own, Benson is good for 10-15 wins, Loewen has a great curveball, wright is solid. They really have no weaknesses.

Final AL East Standings for 2007

1. Baltimore Orioles
2. New York Yankees
3. Boston Red Sox
4. Tampa Bay Tarpoons
5. Toronto Blue Jays

nicely, i imagine the O's are going to have not started yet another difficult season. like you reported, they are in between the superb, if not the superb, branch in baseball. Teixeria may were a staggering addition, yet i do not imagine he may have made them a contender. Daniel Cabrera turned right into a handful for Dave Trembeley from what I heard, so it should be good that he's lengthy gone. nonetheless at situations, he got here via with some good starts. With their lack of pitching intensity, that could damage them slightly. If Aubrey has yet another good season, which will quite help them. I remember in 2007 even as they'd such extreme expectancies and he did not come via. very last three hundred and sixty 5 days, he quietly had an exceptionally good season. in the experience that they get the 2008 Huff, that is an outstanding element. Yeah, Cesar Izturis isn't a signing to bounce up and down about. although that's an imrpovement from the revolving door they'd at short very last season. As for Brob, i quite wish he says in Baltimore. even nonetheless i'm a Twins fan, Brian is my widespread participant and that i visit purely photo him in a Baltimore uniform. there have been commerce rumors this three hundred and sixty 5 days, in basic terms not almost as good because the Cubs from very last offseason. i trust that he will be an Oriole nonetheless the 2009 season, and then we are going to ought to work out if he re-indicators because his settlement with Baltimore ends after the 2009 season.

I will be excited if the O's manage to reach .500. Is this possible or are we headed for ten straight loosing seasons? I don't think they will do very well this season. The bullpen looks better; however, starting pitching is still a problem. Prepare to lose Bedard, Roberts, Patterson, and anyone else in the twilight of their contract. Some of them avoided arbitration, but let's face it. Angelos will never pay the money to keep them long term. We are yet another farm system for the Yankees and Red Sox.

I think you summed it up in your last statement "no pitching". Unfortunately, the Orioles play in one of the toughest divisions in all of baseball. To compete, the O's need to have a well rounded team. Like you say, they have some very good offensive weapons on the team, but once again we come back to pitching which is so eccential to the game. Pitching will win or lose you games, especially the close ones. If the Orioles can get some starters, they could be very good.

I really don't think the Orioles have wut it takes to do good this year sure they have Tejada and More and them but thats not going to help you if you don't have any pitching to win the games for u so im looking at about 75-87

Probably loose more than they win. Again. I'm an O's fan but lets face it they can't outscore the other teams when the pitching gives up loads of runs.

You answered your own question -- no pitching. They'll score some runs, but they won't compete with Boston, NYY and Toronto.

I give them an edge over the Rays because their bullpen's a little bit better.

They will be competitive but until Peter Angelos is gone and you have a real owner...hopefully Cal...they will never get out of the basement of the AL East
