Cats, they are more aloof and can pretty much take care of themselves.

That all depends on you the person you are. If you live in an apartment, a high rise, condo or whatever and you do not like having to go out with a dog, throw things for him to catch etc. etc. take a cat. They are very independent and as long they get their nourishment are fine by themselves.
A dog takes more care. They are dependent on mankind. Need a lot of exercise, affection bu they'll pay you back big time.

Depends on your needs and how much time you have.. I had a cat who was a companion, liked to play with my toes, didn't take much care. My husband died quickly from cancer one yr ago, and I got a dog to cheer up me and my boys, but he is a lot of work, needing extensive exercise, ball throwing, bathing, etc. BUT who can be sad with a tail wagging, sloppy kissing dog asking to do tricks for you?? We all also feel safer with this barking rescue black lab. He barks when someone comes to the driveway or door, and we all feel very safe, after the 'rug was pulled out' from our lives.
When my cat disappeared in the fall I got another, because a gentle, quiet affection is what I needed for quiet company and stress relief.
Both are good pets for different people and their different needs.

Dogs make better pets because CATS can give you all kinds of crazy deseases and you won't even know you have them. I can't remember the name of that one, but basically you act like you have schezophrenia, but it's really a parasite living in your body, you get that from cats and it's actually VERY common! I can't believe I can't remember the name of it!!! I was just reading that something like 48% of people who own cats will get it! Well when I think of it I will repost this so you can know about it too.

I think cats are better pets. They are better pets because they are cute and cuddly. They also aren't as hyper and wild as most dogs are. Most cats are sweet unlike most dogs are mean. Even though this isn't what everyone thinks, This is why cats are the best pets over dogs.

Cats all the way! Dogs really bug me cuz they're always seeking your attention, barking for nothing , drooling on your clothes, and you have to take them for a walk even if you don't feel like it! Especially with the -30°c here in Montreal! Aaargh. With cats, you just let them be and they make great couch company LOL.I got mine when he was 8 months and I trained him to do his thing outside so I don't even require the usual litter...Now how cooler can that be!?

I defiantely think taht dogs make a petter pet bacause if they are gong to do something to you they at least tell you ;by growling. Cats will just pounce at you and i have never seen miniature cats excpet for dogs. ha. If you get a miniature dog then you can take him in your purse and it would be easier to dress it up in cute little outfits. I don't think that they seel outfite for cats as they do for dogs.

i have two dogs at the moment, but i've had multiple pets...i say a cat, because they learn to use their little faster than you can housetrein a dog, their really affectionate when they choose to be,
and their generally softer

but i would really suggest a turtle because they will outlive you and you wont go through the sorrow of there death

Cats are better for just having around and having something living in your home. Dogs are better for affection, dependence and unconditional Love.

cats because thye are so easy to take care of...you can leave a cat with food, water and a litter box for up to 4 days, you can not do that to a dog!!! Plus cats do not have that "dog smell" they always smell good!! Dogs are good protectors but i just prefer cats...i have 3!!!

Cats for sure!!! They dont let nobody mess with them and come to you when they want. You dont have to be giving them attention all the time like a dog. Dogs get bored.
