Devil (if you are referring to the pre-Christian definition) is a demon itself, often, in many mythologies, with a very complex personality; a demon is some kind of a spirit (it can be both good and bad!) that exists either by itself, or by possessing some animal, stone, tree or a man; daemon is a Greek word, meaning also spirit, but more in terms of: soul; demodand I have never heard of.
