After the US defeated Mexico again, do you think that Mexican football/soccer has gone downhill to the point that the Americans are better, or is it the opposite. Has the US team improved over the play of the Mexicans. Granted neither team has a real shot at 2010 barring a miracle, but who is on the right track to win one first?

the answer is extremely easy: the US. now sure i'm a US fan, and do buy into the whole rivalry between the two countries, but you cant argue with the facts. the US has better skilled and better talented, and most importantly, young players, while mexico has a bunch of old has beens. not to offend, but it's the truth, if you take both lineups and average their ages, the us is probably younger by a good 5 or more years. the US is a team on its way in, and mexico is a team on its way out. plus, the level of talent in the MLS is growing every year, to the point where the MLS, though less popular, is more talented than the mexican league. and now with the addition of becks, the talent level within the youth of america and the MLS will certainly grow much much more. so the future looks bright for the USA.

Mexico: even though they fell 2-0 to the United States their still the better team. No country matched Mexico's total of 67 goals in qualifying for the 2006 FIFA World Cup Germany. But the USA teams has players from all around the world which will make it tough too. Mexico doesn't take friendly matches serious do to injuries but when it comes to the World Cup, watch out for the Mexicans. Sorry USA, GO GERMANY!!!

Its really hard to tell because anything can happen within these coming years. USA might have a better chance in the long run because they can buy players and mess around with their lineups. In contrast, Mexico only has good chances when they develop good players which only come in certain yrs. Such as the u-17. As for winning a world cup, any team can win. Look at Italy, in my opinion their playing sucked and somehow they managed to win the world cup. I believe they played weak teams and also played dirty. Really dirty. Im Mexican and when Maxi Rodriguez scored the winning goal i almost cried but i have to say id kill myself if i was an aussie for getting there game stolen against the Italians. That sucked

I think that the US soccer team has a better chance to win the World Cup in 2010 rather than Mexico because of the way that the US played on Feb. 7. Mexico realy needs to step up their offense if they want to be ahead of the US soccer team

Honestly, sometimes I wonder how Americans forget about the up and coming Mexican prodigies like Giovanni Dos Santos, Carlos Vela and all the other young stars that were in the Sub 17 world champ team. Giovanni is being touted as the next Ronaldihno and many people think Carlos vela is just as good. Don't forget they are both playing in Europe, like Rafa Marquez. Easily Mexico, the reason being because the young stars of Mexico are going to Europe while most young Americans are staying in the MLS. Ex. Freddy Adu

Both reasons apply to an extent, though Americans may have changed more rapidly, since they have so much money to buy players and even whole teams. Along those lines, if Mexico doesn't wake up very soon, they're history because any kid with any talent will end up playing on a US team. Fortunately, there is still Germany to get Americans where their soccer belongs - on the "humor" page.

Neither of them are yet mature to win such a title, I would love to see Mexico take it, but I think that it is waaaaaaaayyyyyyy too early now, to decide such a prestigious award to any of the 2 teams. One thing we must keep in mind is that Mexico has a lot of promising young talent, that as we speak are in European teams polishing and enhancing their young talent. Remember the u17 World Cup victory?? Well not only does the US have to watch out, but if Mexico keeps on raising young talent like that, a lot of other countries will need to watch out too.

The USA knows how to play Mexico so they know how to beat them, but once they start playing other countries the USA has trouble winning.

I would like to see the USA win it before Mexico though, that would be sooo cool.

They are both good teams, mexico has done well in the past and is still doing good. The usa has good players and is showing improvement in their game. I would say considering all maybe USA.
