that i find it a sad reflection on american socity that the biggest news story the last two days has been Anna Nicole ??

It's a disgusting display of American society and especially the media.

I think people feel connected to celebrities because we see and hear about them so often and people make reference to to them quite frequently in our daily lives. It is not that strange that when a famous person passes away that if people admired that person they would become upset so no, I don't think it is a sad reflection of our society but I look at it as I am glad that people can still have sympathy in such a violent world.

I don't think it is genuine interest in Anna as much as an escape from the mundane. Every one is so wrapped up in the war that unfortunately it is easier to watch this and for a moment have the entire world reduced to mourning for a Playmate. It is easier to wrap our arms around the concept of this than what is happening to our country and our troops.

Yes it is a sad reflection. There are much more important issues that this country has to deal with then a "super star" dying.
Please people let's get real!! What about the homeless and starving kids, the students out there trying out all these prescription drugs, everyday folks just up and killing each other...
who cares this much about ONE woman????

I hear you....she was a gold digger ..."new money".... it showed how she spent it, and she didn't hide it either. Now, take Princess Diana...there was a genuine woman, where the world had a right to be upset. I feel Anna was simply a Marilyn Monroe "wanna be" (but far from her)

Not really. Today when I was watching the news I was - for the first time in my life - thrilled to hear about North Korea and nukes. Because it meant they weren't talking about Anna Nicole anymore.

I was just talking about this with my mom..
I turned on the Today Show on NBC...
figured I would watch the daily news...
I watched it from 7-9...and all they talked about was frickin ANNA NICOLE! all she did was spread her legs for playboy..married a rich almost dead dude...got fat....shot a reality show...and lost weight...
why is she famous again?

it is sad she didnt have a good life either being mocked and exploited she had obvious mental health problems that instead of being nursed were exploited and encouraged and im sorry to say atleast shes out of all that now and doesnt hear the publics reactions too her
