It's funny because most people just see things very superficially, but I think the reality is that there is deeper symbolism to colours that we pick up on but don't necessarily realize.
For example, pink and red are the actual colours of a heart. The heart has always represented the point in our bodies from where emotions (like romantic love) occur.
Red and pink can go with other things. Try going to Asia. That's what half of the girls there wear.

because these colors have been associated with the holiday and although they may look good together if worn outside the season people think your dragging out the holiday and are kind of crazy
