I bought a brand new 100GB hard drive and installed winXP on it. It isn't even showing 1GB of free memory. To be exact it is showing Free Space: 88.8MB and Total Size (C:/) 1.99GB. I haven't loaded anything on this computer except windowsXP. The whole process of what I done was remove the old hard drive and then put in a new hard drive with nothing on it. Then I installed XP (right after putting the hard drive in without using the boot disk that came with the hard drive) Why is it showing such a low memory (and getting error messages along with it that is saying low memory). Please someone help me with this problem.

nicely, in my adventure, between the greater effective manufacturers is Western digital, or Maxtor is nice too, and yet so is Seagate. they are all good drives with low failure expenditures. Seagate in many situations comes with their very own diagnostic application to assist detct mess united statesand so which you will discover how the rigidity is appearing. I geared up my pc and merely used a million huge 200gb rigidity. you are able to continuously partition it in case you desire to maintain issues separated. In some approaches, 2 drives are greater effective, as in case you mandatory to reformat, you're able to pass the needed data over and then merely reformat and pass back. yet, I easily have a removeable annoying rigidity for that purpose if I ever could desire to. in case you do get a huge harddrive be certain to get harddrive followers as they in many situations run warmer than the smaller ones like 100gb.

I am sure it didn't partition right; and on that note it didn't format to the right file system, on a final note I believe it's a factory/store reconditioned merchandize.

Reinstall XP; while at it, choose whatever Advanced Installation and erase the entire drive that XP's installer offers, do it right and do it from square one.
