Actually you do not count from the period at all, you count from the last day forward. So first you need to know how long your cycles are.

The best way to determine when you are most fertile is to monitor your cycles by doing fertility charting. To do you you need to take your morning temperature and monitor your cervical position and fluids. Here is a passge from my up coming e-book.

By using this ‘Fertility Awareness Method’, and charting your symptoms, you will learn to recognize the most fertile time during your cycle so you can time sexual intercourse to increase your odds of pregnancy. You will soon recognize your personal triphasic phase time frame that consists of menses, the follicular phase and the luteal phase. You will acquire information on recognizing temperature changes, potential pregnancy, non ovulatory cycles and more. Through the use of this ‘Natural Family Planning’ you will learn how to identify the time that you are approaching ovulation and when you ovulate. Fertility charting, while trying to conceive, will give you an enormous amount of information about your body and its fertility. No woman can go wrong by learning how her body works and what is right and wrong about it. But of course, your main interest in fertility charting is the ability to identify the days of your cycle when you are at your most fertile and time intercourse to increase your chances of conception.

Temperature changes tell you when you have ovulated, so you can anticipate when you are most likely to ovulate during your next cycle and when you nolonger need to worry about this one. Your cervix puts out 'egg-white' like mucus to help the sperm travel to the newly released egg. It also opens up, softens and rises to create an easy trip for the sperm. Cervical issues tell you what is happening in your cycle right now.

It actually varies from woman to woman and month to month. Most women will get symptoms when they are most fertile the main one being egg white cervical mucus. this means your natural lubricant is very much like raw egg white. You can stretch it bewteen your finger and thumb. You are most likely to ovulate 14 days prior to your next period.

Your math is right. even however, ovulation varies between women and could start up as early as 7 days after your era starts or as previous due as 21 days. in case you attempt to conceive, start up having intercourse as quickly as each 2 days, from 18th via to 2d. while you're actually not pregnant by using the 4th month, get some medical advice.
