Why do Dems/Libs bristle when there is a lack of respect shown- as with my parodying Obama's name. The bemoan a lack of civility in "childishness."
It seems that calls for civility are only made when one is being uncivil towards one of them. Where is the disdain at their own ranks when President Bush is called a "chimp"? Bush and Cheney are mocked 24/7, so spare me your pseudo genteel affectations.

Rukidding: The insulting on my end is part of the Ann Coulter school of debate, utilizing Sun Tzu's: "If your opponent is quick to anger, seek to irritate him"
Coulter can argue- but knows the libs will not use logic, but their bumpersticker one liners. I think she stuns them with a shove- while laying down her case. Not sure if this is effective or just self indulgence.

Because if liberals don't distract us with name calling (uncivil is one of the nicer things these senseless banshees have called me.), then they would have to begin crafting factual logical honest arguments, and we all know they are incapable of doing so.

This stuff is happening on both sides. As a matter of fact, a LOT of arguments seem to be used by either one side against the other... it's kind of frustrating. I'm not saying we have to totally abstain from using arguments like Repubs/Demos (choose one) are just after your money or are all liars or have no morals, etc... but I don't know, we should back it up with why we think it. Like I think many (not all) Republican politicians, policy-makers, and as you said, propagandists, are just after money and are lying... my reasoning behind it is that, from the information I've gathered, it seems they stand to make a lot of money on their war policies, and to me, any other reasons they've given sound like slim excuses.
Now as for mocking, I'd like to think I don't do it too much and that I have some tolerance for it on the other side, when in good taste. More than that is unnecessary and detracts from the dialogue.
I can't believe you're talking about Ann Coulter in a question about civil debate.

Most libs are naïve and actually believe if they protest real hard the world will be a better place.
I'm just a cynical old lib that gave up on all that and enjoy laughing at the whole government.

They've never been accused of honesty.
Look at the way they bemoaned every remark lobbed at Chelsea Clinton, yet don't seem to have a problem yapping about the Bush Twins or Mary Cheney.

It's always easier to see insults aimed AT your side than it to see insults aimed BY your side. Just human nature. There is plenty of trash talk on both sides, by to me it seems that the left does more of it than the right. If Hypocrisy were gold, Y!A politics would be worth trillions. It could be used to pay off the national debt.

Well, I might have agreed, son, if it were they who was complaining. From what I read, the two who were annoyed were Republicans. I totally understand where you are coming from, but I do tend to think that, like bad spelling, focus is taken off the question and placed on the name calling. I think it's important not to give them any tangent to run off with but to make them either confront the question or make fools of themselves with insults because they can't. You might just think about it. (How come you're writing in caps?)

there are tons of children running around on here... clearly...
I've seen many attempts at "parenting" fail on both sides and I have neither the time or inclination to be a parent to either them or you... regardless of which political party any of you belong too...
of course you get people saying "liberals can only call names"... and sometimes for kicks I like to mock them when they do nothing more than call names... which of course always happens...
the simple fact is... there are some on both sides that are mature... and many on both sides that are not... party affiliation seems to have little to do with it...
and frankly... everyone can be immature at times...

If Bush had a son he would be a black guy.
I heard he aborted most of them. Those black women that refused abortion some how just committed suicide.
