If it sounds to good to be true, it generally is... be careful with those "get rich" schemes.

Sorry to hear about your pup. See if they offer financing...

I'm not sure what kind of surgery costs $9000. I've been a dog owner all my life and my current dog has had two hip surgeries, so I'm familiar with medical costs associated with pets. At any rate, when my dog needed her first hip surgery, we were quoted $2000. I figured that if I was going to spend that much money, I needed a second opinion. Took my dog to a vet my friend highly recommended and he gave my dog a thorough exam -- much more thorough than the first vet. He even called in another vet to consult with. In the end, he agreed she needed the surgery, but I liked him so much, I had him do it instead of the first vet and I was enormously pleased with the care she got and the results. His total bill for the same surgery, everything from A-Z included, was $650. That was six years ago and we now take all of our pets to him.

My advice is to get a second or possibly even third opinion if you're talking that kind of money. Forget the get-rich-quick schemes. If they worked, believe me ... EVERYONE would be doing it.

I love my pets and would probably want to do anything for them but for that much I would get a second opinion. If it really cost that much, I would find a veterinary school. They will always do surgeries at a reduced cost.
Hope the pup gets better.

Quick, easy directions:

1) Buy one lottery ticket.
2) Pray to your God that you win in order to save your dog.
3) Promise to send any leftover money to a charity of His choice.
4) Sit back and watch.

If it was meant to be, then you will win. If not, then just put the poor dog out of it's misery, if you truly love her. Anything that costs $9000 to fix has to hurt like a mofo.

Contact veterinary schools, or veterinary organizations that do surgery and treating of dogs like yours......they may do the needed work for a much, much less cost to you.
Contact a dog breeders association , for your breed of dog, and plead with the members of that organization to help you.

Usually pyramid scemes that promise a great return for your money are not the answer. I would hunt for a better price at all costs. go see a fourth or fifth vet and see if they are all asking the same price.

Have your dog put to sleep and buy a new one..........I'm not trying to be cold at all. I have a dog and I love him very much, but 9K is a lot of money and there is no guarantee that the surgery will work.

If you truly love this animal and cannot afford the surgery, request the vet to keep it. He/she will probably do the surgery and give your puppy a very loving home and you may occasionally get to visit.
