Because they were the first of their music. They were different then anyone else who had come before. The Beatles were influential to almost all of the musicians we have today, and were figures that were connected with peace. Besides, I've never seen anything as insane as Beatle Mania.

They were fresh, imaginative, and different. Music in America was totally boring, that is, the white side of it. The Beatles began with a sort of bubble gum rock, ie: "I wanna hold your hand" She loves you", then, as you listen to the evolution of their creativity you will see their growth, the genius of John, Paul and George sprinkled with a bit of Ringo. I literally grew up with the Beatles, "I wanna hold your hand" woke me in a very fresh, happy way. The Beatles were cute and were there in the right place at the right time. Then moving on with their music, we all grew, musically, spiritually, intellectually, in so many ways. You would have had to truly been there. Or you could take their songs and begin with the oldest and listen to each and every one of them right up until they broke up, and even after when they grew separately. It was timing, talent, genius behind the songwriting and how the songs were produced which made them the best music group to walk the earth so far.............

They weren't. They were a great band, but there have been lots of great bands. In some respects such as songwriting and songcraft the Beatles were better than most (but not all), but in others such as musicianship (not to say they were bad musicians, they just were not spectacular) they cannot be said to be the greatest. The most remarkable thing about the Beatles is that they managed to be revolutionary and popular at the same time. A great achievement, but it does not necessarily mean that they are unequivocally better than everyone else.

Boston and Huey Lewis are way better. Beatles may have been good at there time but Boston and Huey can play circles around them. Boston has the great Pick ups and there own sound. Huey has the lyrics and guitar solos.

They are not the best, but the most well-known music group.

I must admit they are pretty wicked... My music teacher once said people "connected" with their music so much because the rhythms they played were the same beat as a human heart...could be total bogus though.

Prince is better. He's a musical genius, and also a member of MENSA.

Because someone apparently went back in time and kept 1,000,000 or so other bands from ever forming.

Words wouldn't do justice. Their music speaks on its own.

I don't think they were, so maybe you better tell me why you think so?
