Most Muslims are very devout and practice their faith daily. If you read bible passages two or three times a day from the minute you could read and listen until you became an adult, the passages would come easy to you. Muslims are steeped in their FAITH, PRACTICE and STUDY. Anyone who is devout to a particular subject in this way can achieve much.

Rote learning, repetition for days on end, with no attempt to explain or analyze the text, results in imprinting the words in your brain, especially when young, so you can just read them like on a teleprompter. Truth or understanding has little to do with facilitating this process. Fear of punishment from "Allah" and his minions may play a large part, however.
