The closest was the L.A. Rams way back in XIV. They did not play at the Rose Bowl, so technically it was not a home game, but c'mon.
Actually Miami did not ever play in a Miami hosted Super Bowl.

The Rams were in the SB at the Rose bowl in 1979. They played the Steelers and lost. Although the Rose bowl is in Pasadena and it was the Los Angeles Rams. It was still in Los Angeles county.

No, it has never happened. But after the Colts win the battle over whos gonna host it in 2011, the Colts won't be just the first team to play in their own city but become the first team to win the Super Bowl at home. GO COLTS!!!
