I own a shop, and work on a lot of vehicles. What I would do is find a used one from a junkyard. I have a 94 S-10 blazer, and it has a cold air intake system that works real well. If you can find one like mine you would be set. Mine is a 4.3 Vortec engine. You can make one, and you need to seal it around the snorkel with a clamp, seal around the Air Intake Sensor, so it will stay in place, and not fall out, and it needs to seal around the filter so it doesn't pull dirt, or outside air through from somewhere else.
I would use a more quick drying type of RTV, and let it set up good before you try to use it.
Glad to help out, Good Luck!!!

I'm sure you could walk in any car / truck final resting place an get a factory replacement in seconds. I've seen several in our local meadow of rest while scavenging suspension parts off S - 10's and Blazers they'll all interchange.
