I hate my job....I work in a factory as an inspector...same crap, different day...but I'm stuck here because I need this much money & can't make it elsewhere (been there 20 years). I feel trapped.
Choose something that will fulfill you--something that will help others! Something you can go home smiling from, thinking you "made a difference" somehow.
If I could do it over, I'd choose teaching or health....I know I'd be a great midwife.

I work for a permit company. We do work for oil companies.I started out as a GEO Tech....entering data in a database.I have since been learning mapping.I had worked at a truckstop and the owner and my boss now came in to drink coffee. It was right after hurricane Katrina. We were talking and I asked what were they doing in my town. They told me and I casually asked if they needed any help.Amazingly they said" yes we do" and hired me the next day.My chin hit the floor when they told me I would "start out" making $125 a day.I have been with them over a year now and I now make $250 day.I LOVE MY JOB, not only for the money but it is so interesting to me and I have learned so much and learn more everyday.God was looking out for me.I'm a single mother and this has really made a BIG change in my life.I wish you luck in whatever you end up doing.Maybe look towards the oil business. It's amazing how much money is involved

My advice to you would be to honestly ask yourself, "What do I love and what satisfies me in life?" Think about what your favorite interests are and what you could picture yourself doing. Ask professionals you know about their career and if they life what their doing, take a class or two at the local college to check out a subject in an area that interests you, and the other way is to just get out there and try different job paths and see what you love doing based on your experience. Good luck and as long as you keep seeking, you'll eventually find a career you love and was worth the time finding.

I love my career. I drive a tractor-trailer. I make good money. I get to dress casual, listen to the radio most of the time and am off every weekend. The work is not very hard and no boss looking over my shoulder. You may want to consider it. A lot of women are doing it now.
